01 / THE IDEA

Not a uniform look—
the right form for each message

Every brief, audience, and message is different. KUMIHAN|Measure helps AI shape typography, spacing, and hierarchy around the meaning and priorities of each piece—rather than applying one template to everything. In English, that starts by asking whether the words are there to be read, used or seen—and which house style they follow.

02 / WHAT MATTERS

Four things worth getting right

Practical priorities for creating and reviewing English content.

01 / TYPE

English typography

Latin script is not only English, and a region is not a house style, so script (Latn), language (en), region (en-US, en-GB, en-AU) and house style are recorded separately. The measure—line length—is set together with word spacing and hyphenation: left-aligned text by default on the web, justification only where each line is checked for rivers, and no break-all splitting ordinary words. The six primary regional contexts are US, GB, CA, AU, IN and SG; ten further regions are advisory. Unspecified en remains region-neutral, and organization styles apply only when explicitly selected for their documented scope.

02 / STRUCTURE

Purposeful structure

Shape the layout around the information, its priority, and the reader’s goal. Text to be read, used or seen is designed in different ways, and headline breaks follow meaning—“A busy day. / A quiet cup.”, not “A busy / day.” A single word left on a line may be intended emphasis, so alternatives are proposed rather than forced.

03 / FIDELITY

Source fidelity

Protect names, quotations, numbers, dates, codes and intended meaning. Quotation marks, the serial comma, dates (October 20, 2026 or 20 October 2026) and spelling follow the chosen house style and are never silently switched to another region’s; names, quotations and code keep their own form. Figures are treated by type—a leading zero, a year or a currency is more than digits—and lining or oldstyle, proportional or tabular are separate choices. Keep World Health Organization, AirAsia, quoted text and code unchanged. Regional meanings such as table or prepone and ambiguous dates need contextual review, not automatic conversion.

04 / REVIEW

Read-only review

Check finished work and organize issues—without touching the files. Hierarchy is not judged by size alone—IBM’s Carbon sets heading-01 and body-01 both at 14 px and separates them by weight—and output is checked at real widths, at 200% text and under WCAG text-spacing overrides. A pass covers only that browser, width and font.

DESIGNED FOR THE MESSAGE

Beyond arranging type
Design the reading experience

KUMIHAN|Measure doesn't dictate a finished look. It gives AI the knowledge to adapt to each medium and brief. English has no single house style, and published values answer their own purpose: GOV.UK sets body text at 19 px, IBM’s Carbon at 14 px for product UI. Even the measure is a starting proposal—about 55–75 characters for long-form web text—where other guides give ranges of 45–90 or 75–120.
