Swedish typography
Å, ä and ö are letters in their own right, not decoration. Their rings and dots must not be clipped by tight line spacing, cramped headings or image masks, and capitals keep their accents: idé becomes IDÉ. Long compounds are never split with spaces, and when nattåg is hyphenated it becomes natt-tåg—a break a soft hyphen cannot express, so it is used only where the renderer supports it.
