01 / THE IDEA

Not a uniform look—
the right form for each message

Every brief, audience, and message is different. KUMIHAN|ဟန်ချက် helps AI shape typography, spacing, and hierarchy around the meaning and priorities of each piece—rather than applying one template to everything. In Burmese, that starts by asking whether a text is to be read as continuous prose, used in an interface, or shown as a headline or lettering—and whether a spoken or literary style suits its purpose.

02 / WHAT MATTERS

Four things worth getting right

Practical priorities for creating and reviewing Burmese content.

01 / TYPE

Burmese typography

Myanmar script is also used for Mon, Shan, the Karen languages and Pali, so language (my) and script (Mymr) are recorded separately, and Unicode is never confused with Zawgyi—swapping the font does not fix it. Kinzi, stacked consonants, medials and vowel signs stay in logical order while the shaper places them; no spans, colour changes or tracking go inside a cluster.

02 / STRUCTURE

Purposeful structure

Shape the layout around the information, its priority, and the reader’s goal. Body text, interface labels, headlines and lettering are designed as different roles. Spaces in Burmese mark phrases, not every word, so lines break at meaningful phrases—not with a blanket break-all or a zero-width space after every syllable—and the heading-to-body ratio changes with screen width.

03 / FIDELITY

Source fidelity

Protect names, quotations, numbers, dates, codes and intended meaning. The original Unicode text, the punctuation marks ၊ and ။, Myanmar digits and look-alikes such as the letter ဝ (wa) and the digit ၀ (zero) stay as written. Converting from Zawgyi, switching between spoken and literary style and shortening copy are edits: offered as proposals with their basis, never made silently.

04 / REVIEW

Read-only review

Check finished work and organize issues—without touching the files. Size is judged by measured extent, not point size—in the research, the base letter က set at the same size in four typefaces measured 0.463–0.640 em high—and clipped marks above and below, copying and PDF text extraction are checked separately.

DESIGNED FOR THE MESSAGE

Beyond arranging type
Design the reading experience

KUMIHAN|ဟန်ချက် doesn't dictate a finished look. It gives AI the knowledge to adapt to each medium and brief. Burmese design is not a fixed set of circles, temples and gold, and Burmese letterforms are not all round. Typefaces are compared by file version, character coverage, shaping and licence—Padauk 6.000, for example, dropped Graphite, so older setup advice no longer applies.
