01 / THE IDEA

Not a uniform look—
the right form for each message

Every brief, audience, and message is different. KUMIHAN|Jalin helps AI shape typography, spacing, and hierarchy around the meaning and priorities of each piece—rather than applying one template to everything. Language, script, region, register, medium and purpose are set separately, so no single “Malay look” is assumed.

02 / WHAT MATTERS

Four things worth getting right

Practical priorities for creating and reviewing Malay content.

01 / TYPE

Malay typography

Read Rumi through its word structure: tell the di- prefix from the preposition di, keep reka bentuk as two words and buku-buku with its hyphen, and give long affixed words room instead of breaking them anywhere. Select ms-MY, ms-SG or ms-BN explicitly.

02 / STRUCTURE

Purposeful structure

Shape the layout around the information, its priority, and the reader’s goal. Text meant to be read and display copy meant to be seen are designed by different criteria.

03 / FIDELITY

Source fidelity

Keep Malay distinct from Indonesian; protect names, quotations, numbers and meaning, including kami versus kita and deliberately colloquial words such as tak or Jom. Changes are proposals, never silent edits.

04 / REVIEW

Read-only review

Check finished work and organize issues—without touching the files. Jawi is checked in stages—preservation, direction and joining, then native proofreading—and nothing unverified is reported as passed.

DESIGNED FOR THE MESSAGE

Beyond arranging type
Design the reading experience

KUMIHAN|Jalin doesn't dictate a finished look. It gives AI the knowledge to adapt to each medium and brief. Rumi alone can carry cultural expression; adding Jawi is not a requirement for local character.
